Stem Cell therapy would cure Arthritis

Stem Cell therapy would cure Arthritis

Half the cost of knee replacement therapy with faster recovery without pain.

Earlier there was the option of knee replacement therapy only for osteoarthritis. Now this treatment would become easier with stem cell technique. Australian doctors Van Thomas and Ralf Bright have started world’s first enzyme free therapy at Indore. Both doctors were in Indore on Friday at the 60th Indian Orthopedic association.

According to them, “This would be the first instance that the body will cover its own depletion through biological process.

How different is stem cell therapy from joint replacement therapy –

The fats from patient’s body are processed and then injected in the joints in stromal vascular fraction in stem cell therapy. There is no rejection by the body as the cells belong to the patient. Stromal cells are extracted without enzymes from stem cells. These recreate the surface of cartilage.

How successful is this technique –

There is no problem faced for 8 to 10 years.

The heart will be printed and Wafer would provide insulin

Two big accomplishments that would make the fight with diabetes and heart transplant easier.
The heart will be printed and Wafer would provide insulin

There have been two major achievements in the field of organ transplant and diabetes. London’s researchers have made a special kind of Wafer (biscuit) that would change the way of taking insulin. There would be no requirement of taking painful injections. In addition and American lab has been successful in printing a real heart’s model through the 3D printer. This would help create a proper heart through human cells.

Let us know about these two technologies-

Wafer of the size of Postage stamp - It will supply insulin twice as fast as the injection. This is MSL 001, which looks like a wafer. It has the same amount of insulin, which is provided through injection. A British pharma company has made this. Successful trials have happened on Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes patients. The prime importance aspect is that the insulin taken by the wafer reaches the body twice as fast as the injection and starts working. It is kept under the tongue or between the cheek and teeth. The thin capillaries here absorb the insulin quickly and it reaches into the body twice as fast.

Dependency on donor will be reduced. A new heart will be formed from the old heart through 3D printing. After 3D printing of hands, ears, and nose now, it is the turn of the heart. For the first time successful formation of real replica of heart and arteries have been successful through 3D printing. It has been made of soft material like human tissues. The researchers at Sea Melon university of America had a big challenge in front of them to form thin layers of capillaries. This used to be destroyed in printing earlier. Now they have the target to make a new heart from the old capillaries and make a cheaper bioprinter in 5 years. This will reduce the dependency on donation, humans, and the cost of the operation.
