She had been in an accident 15 years back which caused her jaw bone to get attached to her skull and this caused her difficulty to open her mouth. Temporomandibular joint surgery has been performed in government dental college and hospital's oral and maxillofacial surgery department. An artificial joint of titanium has been added to her mouth. She is perfectly healthy now. This disease is called Temporomandibular Joint ankylosis in medical terms. There are more than 1000 patients with this disease in Rajasthan.

Just like an artificial transplant is done in knee or hip surgery the same way this operation was performed. This is favorable for those patients who suffer from jaw pains.
